....and Mussolini made the trains run on time. So, there's good and bad. Plus, his boots were ALWAYS perfectly shined and brushed.

It depends what the “education”, “culture,” and “think tanks” are hiding - if indeed they are hiding anything.

That wonderful actor Burt Kwouk---of Chinese origin ---I heard him say that he was grateful he could earn money playing 'any' eastern part!

Lenny Henry has spoke at length regarding this and he himself played characters that mocked those of 'colour'.

'Goodness Gracious Me' etc wonderful shows mocking all!!! Other similar!!
Quite agree with you Bipat. We learn about other races from these programmes. Our ( actually normal) reaction to people who do not look like us .. from other 'tribes' than our own. are depicted as ok. We poke fun at them and they show us up to be 'No better. than we should be ',as my Grandmother would say . I particularly loved the comedy 'Rising Damp' for giving us the wonderful upper class black character played by Don Warrington ( now the police commissioner in the series Death in Paradise ) What a surprise that was for those who thought in a certain stereotypical way about people of colour . TV series have done a lot to educate the public They shouldn't be censored because they don't fit the picture now..Its what we thought, what we were. A measure of how far we have come now.
As to the question of what is history. ? It's that which is written down by the winners. The powerful amongst us . We had become accustomed to just accepting it . Until the advent of the internet when we could research it ourselves, and find out how flawed much of it is.
