Default Brexit prediction thread.

Put our predictions here and we'll see who's right.

Boris will become PM

He will push for hard Brexit and fail

He will claim 'man of the people' status and ask the electorate in a second referendum

He will want REMAIN to win and it will

(Who the hell would want to see Brexit through? He will have become PM which is his only aim)

Here's two in one for ya

Todays remainiacs will kick and scream every step of the way to brexit, they will never get with the true brexit programme.

I'm going to have to go with Jim on this.

Any PM presiding over this will either be short lived, or be forced to embrace reality. In any case, the collective electorate is going to be unhappy no matter what the outcome. Leave, remain...

I'll toss in one caveat; there still could be a cliff dive by mistake. Then it will be solely damage control. And that won't be popular either.

It will be interesting to see what comes out of the mop-up operation though, once the blood is cleaned off the carpet.

All we will ever hear from hrd line Brexiters is that it is not what they voted for.
Too many migrants, the world not giving the UK the FTA it deserves

You're sounding more like a disciple of a cult than usual, today. And many Leavers, including you and Cape are using the same techniques against those who don't believe in your 'faith'.

I think distrust of Johnson will win the day as far as the new leader goes.

Beyond that, a general election looks a strong possibility before any Brexit.

My predictions.....

Gove for PM

He'll push for hard Brexit and succeed by default. He won't want any extension past the October date, there'll be no re-negotiation, just a dead stop. The certainty that brings is certain chaos for the public and businesses. But 17 million people voted for that, so 65 million deserve that pain.

Gove won't care about being post-Brexit PM. He'll either be the PM who made Brexit happen, or the former PM who will get more directorships to add to his portfolio.

Gove will be seen as a safer bet politically than BoJo.

Hasn't he just said he is up for an extension beyond October?

I believe he did. I'm also of the opinion he's said it to appeal to as wide a base of supporters as possible.

If he rules out an extension, he gains a few hardliners, but most will still likely support BoJo. If he says he's willing to consider an extension, he's seen as someone who can potentially get another deal in Brussels, and that's worth a few votes who wouldn't be voting for BoJo.

I wouldn't trust Gove farther than I could throw Boris.
