You're probably right. A while ago a mother was escorted out of Toys R Us in Herald Square, NYC for breastfeeding in the store. An assistant asked her to go into the store room or basement to feed the baby and she refused. She is suing them for several million $$'s.
I think airlines should provide a small curtained area for mother's to breastfeed. Whilst it is a perfectly natural act for a mother to breastfeed...it could be somewhat awkward in the confines of an aircraft seat with strangers crammed in either side.

I don't think airlines should do anything other than provide a seat for your ass. if you want extra amenities to breastfeed / pray / shower / whatever then you pay extra for them.
But if anyone has a problem breastfeeding a kid on a flight then they obviously haven't sat in the same plane as a hungry crying baby on a 8 hour trans-atlantic.

where the missus used to work...mbna/boa...her manager had a kid and was talking about breast feeding with another person, he got a written warning the next day from HR because it's company policy that you aren't allowed to talk about breast feeding, nor mention breast (if they do want to talk about it, it has to be called natural feeding only).

I think personally, if the person next to you complains, then they have the right to leave.

Sometimes I think people do things like this 'cos they know it will cause a fuss and they will be able to sue for mega $$'s.
I am not saying this woman did this...just that some do.

Mmm the baby is almost 2 yrs old....surely she could have given it something else to eat. Maybe she travels with a small child totally unprepared for emergencies.

Just mental.
I hate seeing little babies covered with a blanket while feeding - very weird.
What could be more natural and what sort of idiot would be offended. Let children see what a breast is for.
