JG - while you are obviously right, you have to understand that cyclists are ENTITLED to go where they like, do what they want, anytime, anyplace!

That’s just what my husband said this afternoon while we were out walking. Down by the lake the council have just opened a new pathway. A lane for pedestrians, a lane for skateboards, rollerblades etc and a very wide lane for cyclists. The sodding cyclists think they are entitled to use all three lanes!

Just had a junction near us remodelled to increase separation between all modes - has made no difference to the cyclists, business as usual, to the detriment of the pedestrians.

Don't really want to open the "cyclists vs motorists" can of worms, but my friends and I installed a PA system (this thing:
https://www.amazon.ca/LAMPHUS-SoundAlert-118-124dB-Emergency-Vehicle/dp/B01FKZK2RU/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=lamphus+pa+system&qid=1569186284&s=gateway&sr=8-1 https://www.amazon.ca/LAMPHUS-SoundAlert-118-124dB-Emergency-Vehicle/dp/B01FKZK2RU/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=lamphus+pa+system&qid=1569186284&s=gateway&sr=8-1
) in my car, and while I don't use it often as i'm too afraid of accidentally hitting the (very illegal) siren function, I do enjoy flipping it on and telling off the occasional cyclist who doesn't yield/stop/wait when they are supposed to and almost causes an accident. The look on their faces is almost always priceless.

Well, no, I only quoted the part I felt was relevant to both motorists and cyclists. You know, for balance.
