Is your May Extra Hot?

Re: Is your May Extra Hot?
yesterday afternoon it was 35 in our kitchen and the BH complained because i made salad for dinner
well, round here the Spanish have now taken their coats off.
can't be too warm, still wearing woolie pully over a thick lumberjack shirt
it will have to get alot hotter for them to take off the wooly
in Granada no matter what the temp the "professionals" will never take their tie off, nor roll up their shirtsleeves

surely if a grown adult pays you to take them to a mountain, gets out and goes for a hike you have no responsibility.!
I can just see the tailback of taxi drivers being sued by OSHA for taking passengers to a bar where they got mugged.

Re: Is your May Extra Hot?
tour guide should have insurance, but how far does that cover for wrinklies who decide to go on a hike without water. Can/will (s)he refuse to take someone having checked them all over to ensure they are carrying a number of bottles.? Because of this incident will the insurance company arbitrarily withdraw the cover, which makes the whole trip non-covered.?
if someone slipped and fell then the guide is there to call for assistance and provide immediate first aid.
why should someone sue a tour guide because they slipped and broke an ankle - that can happen to lithe teenagers as easily as doddering old wrinklies, although the latter have more brittle bones and less resiliance in the event of a fall.
take some responsibility for yourself, do not expect others to do your thinking for you and ensure that on a hike across a mountain there will be X tapas bars every few hundred metres so you can top up your liquid intake.
you will probably find that all on this hike were actually experienced walkers with the correct boots, clothing etc etc. Just not enough water in a hot climate.

Ok ..i agree withyou ..but they have to blame someone for taking them out in a heatwave.. same as ships captain taking you out in a storm.. People are saying tour or hiking guide should have know better..

Re: Is your May Extra Hot?
Fair enough but taking the temperature in the sun is just wrong. If the temperature sensors are at the top of the pole in those boxes they'll always over-read if the sun's on the box.

The temperature is now coming down..its now 30*C and the sun is shining on it..

I reckon those temperature boxes are a con trick by the local authorities to fool the tourists into thinking it's actually hotter than it really is.
.
They no doubt trot around town taking photos of them to send back home on their mobiles or frantically write postcards about little of interest except the weather.
Meanwhile the folk back home are so impressed that they're dashing off down to the travel office to make bookings for themselves.
All very good for business,.. (as well as keeping idle minds entertained , ), these dodgy little temperature boxes.

Accurate or not, I wish Spain could send some warmer weather up here. Been perishing for weeks now; it should be getting warmer in May.
