Just would like to know what floats your boat... and keeps you in (spiritually) the peninsula.
Your recommendations, please, and nothing off TOTP if you can help it, and certainly nothing from Chris Evans and his type.

I think you'll find the majority would struggle to name a Spanish singer other than Julio Doubleglazio!

Depends what mood i'm in.
For relaxing and chilling out it's got to be Chambao. especially this track

Then if I want something a little more upbeat I will listen to someone like el canto del loco (they were my favorite Spanish group before they split) or estopa

In 2010 we saw this group live.
We also this one live late last year, but have not got around to making a video of it yet.

I said the "majority", and I maintain if you were to stop ten Brits on the Costa del Sol/Blanca/Luz etc you'd struggle to find many, never mind the majority, that could name a Spanish group or singer. You and a few others in this thread don't constitute the "majority", as for speaking for myself, it's safe to say I've been listening to Spanish music for a lot longer than you. A quick look at my DVD's in front of me include Jose Luis Encinas, Paco de Lucia, Silvio Rodríguz (Cuban but used to be very popular in Spain) Manu Chao, Chambao, Juan Martín, Estrella Morente plus the usual Albéniz, Rodrigo, Granados etc. Try listening to "Hasta Siempre Comandante", probably not your bag at all, but good stuff, I'll leave the Estopa type music to you. Whatever happened to La Oreja de Van Gogh?

My favourite is Alis, a singer-songwriter from Jaen (I think). Another one I like is Manolo Garcia
For melodic indie pop, Lori Meyers. For rap with a touch of flamenco, Sergio Contreras.
Estirpe (Córdoba) are rockers, mostly a bit too loud for me but I love their acoustic stuff. http://youtu.be/lGHHcYopQMY
