Question Yoigo dongle... problem...

Ive got a yoigo dongle on contract.. just over the 18 months now..

For the past 2-3 months Ive noticed that when I get to the middle of the month, it suddenly slows down, from a really good download speed to what seems like dial-up.... the first time I though it was because I had been away, and a friend used my dongle and I thought perhaps they had gone over the 3GB... and then the following month because I had got close to the 3GB..

but last month I had used only 1.5GM but again mid month, it slowed down, And on the 1st of the following month it is back up to speed..

Im allowed 3GB (fast speed) and if I go over that, then it does go slower... but im not going over it...

anyone else had the same trouble.??

I did try to pop into their shop today but it was closed, (will try again Saturday)

Havent got one, but iirc there have been various comments on the internet about these things slowing down part through the billing period, but usually (as you say) because of the limit being reached

I use a yoigo sim card in a vodaphone unlocked dongle under contract for 29.50 euros per month without any problems or change in speed which seems to remain constant at 3,5 mps. I am in the Fuengurola area with a big fat 3 G signal. I was not aware that there was any restriction on usage as I use my internet conection every day for 3 or 4 hours without any problems. Thats my experience. aggie

I went in the shop today, and they said was it because have I gone over my allowance.. told them no, then said it might be my dongle... so they are going to change it on Monday..

but got home and checked the messages from them.. (on the log in bit) and Ive had messages since my contract ended saying I have gone over the 1GB!!! and I will be on dial-up unless I pay for another 10€ so looks like it once your contract is up... then you are paying 29€ for 1GB.....

Back Monday with a friend who is fluent in spanish... and either they can sort it out or I will cancel... I wont be ripped of by them..... 29€ for 1GB... their having a laugh there...

I don´t understand that 29.50 euros for 1GB If that was right I would have used my quota in the first week. But, I am still going at the same speed(3.5 Mbps) after 2 weeks without Yiogo asking me for anymore money. Keep me posted on your experience with the shop. aggie

No neither do I... unless its because my contract has now ended (dec 2011) ... and its a way to make you take out the contract for another 18 months...

Oh dear, you have been very unlucky. I've been with Yoigo for nearly 3 years and recently upgraded to 10GB for €35 per month and bought their new dongle which uses their newly won, dedicated frequencies so the speed's good and reliable. Once or twice in the past I did have your problem but solved it by signing onto Mi Yoigo on their website where you can send them messages in English and they reply in English. If you don't speak Spanish ask your friend to set up your account, then it's easy.

Hi..

Ive had a really good speed with it in the past, and been really pleased with it, But I dont want to have a new contract with them as there is wifi coming into the area, 17€ a month unlimited.. so I want to get that..

but in the meantime, I want to know why they have put my limit to 1GB.. well going into the shop manana now, will keep you updated.

And just setting up the Mi Yoigo now...
