I actually caught part of this programme on Las Vegas. It was quite interesting and informative - apparently the lake created by the Hoover Dam on the Colorado river is going down in depth each year. There's gloomy speculation that in 8 years time the water will be gone, and then it's goodbye Vegas. However that depends on current trends lasting - I remember times when Spain was entering drought and soon no-one would have access to water. There's also currently quite a lot of unemployment in Vegas (I think the figure was 15%) and they've been hit harder than most by falling property prices, although tbh I wouldn't be interested in property there unless I had business interests there. I imagine their economy will recover if/when the general US economy does.
Sly Stallone seemed quite witty and entertaining, though I admit that could have been selective editing.

I've seen several of the programmes Piers does, and they are entertaining, he has done several face to face interviews, and does ask some awkward questions. He has done programmes on Dubai and Monaco as well..

Anyone see it?
Has our reputation improved in the UK - or taken another hit?

Must admit he's not compulsive viewing for me, but I did make a point of watching it and saw most of it. Much as I expected really, lots of false, botoxed wannabees! Predictable faces, Max Clifford, Linneker's brother, James Hewitt, and many I'd never heard of.

Got it to watch later although it doesn't sound great and it's full of the usual misinformation and scaremongering (you know like the "recent" hairdressers shooting that took place in 2004!). Your friends made a great impression on my friends back in the UK ;)

We laughed all the way through it, utter tosh, but the trouble is some people (no names, but quite easy to guess who) will believe it.

It's all relative isn't it, some people would say spending 100€ on one is ridiculous when you could use a Mercadona carrier bag. If you've got the money to spend seems stupid not to spend it on things you might like, saves sticking it in the bank for the taxman/your children to get when you die

Hardly a good advert for living in the sun - all the women looked permanently wrinkled, despite the expensive grooming.

That's a bit vague, utter tosh. You're an expert seemingly on that area, and I most certainly aren't, so for us lesser mortals, could you list what was wrong with the programme. What were untruths, did the shootings never take place for example, was all the filming set up, specially arranged for the programme? I'm intrigued, I know they like to spice programmes up a bit, but what did they show that clearly never happens, what was out and out lies?

My impression.

It seems the place is right for people who have made a few pounds but cannot afford to keep up with the people found in Monte Carlo etc etc.

Their spending cash looking the part and sure the property is expensive, but the equivalent size etc would be outside there budgets in more famous place's.

Lots of C lists people enjoying the attention.

Also proves money does not buy class.

It`s entirely up to you, you can listen to people that live in the area or you can listen to people that make films or books about it, believe what you want.
Name a country where an occasional drug war shooting doesn`t happen, the one mentioned happened six years ago, if you play with kaka then you may get kaka`d, but don`t worry you would never move to Spain and are safe in the UK.
