My wife does 100% beef albondigas which are lovely, but my brother-in-law's 70% beef, 30% pork albondigas are much nicer as the pork makes them juicier

Burgers I think there is a lot of difference in the quality of the meat, there was this Turkish caf down the road, id say he used to cook a really good meaty burger, but in the downturn he changed supplies, after me having two more burgers I confronted him about it, but he just shrugged it off, a lot of people moaned about the food and now sadly for him he has lost the cafe.

Sometimes you got to a kebab shop and you can get a really nice burger, you can go other places and they are awful.

Its hard to beat a great burger, sadly now its hard to find one.

Ones I cant stand have those (not sure of correct spelling) grissly bits in them, if someone served one up like that I would never buy another from that eatery !

"How do you like my sand castle?"

"It's a poopie sand castle. My sand castle is better than yours because it's made of duck shit. sand is a terrible thing to make sand castles out of".

"right, then".

Not necessarily. I agree burgers need a little help with herbs etc and the addition of pork helps. They rightly claim (McDs) that their burgers are 100% beef because they very cleverly use certain parts of the cow that substitute if you like for what in normal circumstances the pork would provide.

When you hold up McDs as the light bearers of quality meat and burgers then what do you expect? :D

If you like them then good for you, but in polite company you may want to keep that to yourself ;)

Yes, it's called "fat". A perfectly lean hamburger cooks to a rubbery consistency. I know, because I've made the mistake of having very lean steak ground into hamburger. Doesn't work all that well. Get a steak with some marbles of fat. Cooks better, tastes better (but naturally, isn't the most healthy thing you could eat).

By the way, nobody is forcing you to like McD's, and there certainly are better hamburgers in the world, but they do make a far better hamburger than most anyone around here. I think a few hundred million others actually agree, by the way. No need to keep that a secret, except perhaps around people like you, who are likely to snarl at anyone who suggests McD's, yet are first in line when the doors open.

HI,Is that why you have the bun to soak up the fat, I had a burger the other day for breakfast, and it was horrible, all greasy and fatty, and the slimy cheese slice did not benefit it either.

Yeah, those greasy breakfast burgers...

McDs sell lots of food because they are cheap, sugary and convenient, nothing to do with making good food

Obviously this is the internet and I can't prove anything, nor should I need to, but why would anyone put down food that they actually like? If I liked McDs I would eat there, simple. I like burgers and chips and we will eat them, maybe once a month at a local cafeteria, or at a place like VIPs or other Spanish chains, but not at McDs because it is disgusting. I also dislike having to queue up for food.

However, I do recognise that McDs give you a lot of calories for not very much money, so I can see why people go to them.

It's one of the most expensive places to eat. Period. It's hardly cheap. But the attraction is that they consistently deliver what people want and expect. You can bet on it.

They offer a simple, but diverse menu. Burgers, salads (some pretty good ones, too - always fresh), chicken, fish and various regional variations. Their fries are famous.

What I find pretty impressive is that a big Mac in Spain is just the same as in Tokyo. You know consistently, exactly what to expect, it's always of enjoyable quality, and >that's< what attracts millions, even at the high prices.

For a marketing expert, you sure seem to know very little about marketing.

...or is it just what I've always suspected.. You just love to hate anything that's successful...

Big Mac , loved by the medical profession the world , has probably put almost as much money in their pockets as the tabacco industry.
Capitalism at it best !!!!

OK, so maybe the food is OK, but there's gotta be something else that makes it bad...

What, are you serious? I dont know what the prices are at McDs nowadays, but I guess that a full meal is 5-6 euros?

When we have a burger from other places it may cost between 8-12 euros, so McDs definitely is cheap! I don't know anywhere in the whole North of Spain where you could have a full meal for 5-6 euros per head. You could eat a couple of pinchos and a beer for that price I guess, but you would leave hungry.

Now I know why you think Spanish food is bad quality, you are not paying enough for it! I agree with you that a 2 euro pork burger in a greasy Spanish cafe is disgusting, what else do you expect?!

Sheesh, and I thought everything was cheap and of top quality in Oviedo. Will the revelations never cease?

Its about 7 Euros in Spain, but the quality of food is better I find than in the UK and you can have a beer in Mcdonalds.

There chips are saltier which I am not so keen on but you have more choice than just chips.

I prefer KFC but you cant have a beer in there, I guess you can bring one in though. I do !

Usually I will only go there if on holiday after just arriving or before leaving before the Airport depending on location.

When I have one in the UK, straight away I need to have my ablutions this puts me off going which is a good thing however -I have not found that in Spain ! KFC the same, even with the breakfast its the same.

I fancy one now a KFC, mmmmm I wonder.............should I ?
