I'm looking at working and living in Marbella for about 6 months to test the water before moving full time if possible. I will continue my client work in the UK through internet and voip phone.
Please can anyone advise if the broadband provided and speed is good enough in Marbella and/or surrounding towns to allow me to do my work?
Does anyone else also work in a similar way?
My only concern on the whole possible move is the broadband service/connection needs to be 100% otherwise I cannot do my work.
If anyone already works in this way or can advise would be great!
Thanks

there is high-speed broadband available in the centre. I know people who live just off the main drag and they have fibre optic connections.
In the urbanisations and surrounding towns the situation is very patchy and if it is vital to have better than 10mb then you probably need try companies like Zuuum, Avatel or Y.
If you are working through the summer months you should consider the massive increase in mobile traffic compared to winter months and the affect it may have on speed and availability of service.
I have movistar and 10 mb. When doing stuff for the UK I need to use a proxy and that reduces it to 6mb or so.

Cheers G-Diffy for your reply I just want to make sure I get it right before making the big decision, I did notice Regus had serviced offices based in Marbella so I guess they must have solid connections
Thanks again

I am in an area that doesn't have fibre so I rely on an ADSL service with a quoted speed of 6mb. It's reliable and fast enough for all the uses you're likely to have. I stream TV, use Skype and use remote desktop software to control computers elsewhere, all at the same time. You should be fine.

Cheers Horlics feel more confident now. I simply need to speak with clients daily using my voip phone and send and receive e-mails/files no more than that but phone line must be clear with no drop outs. From responses above I think everything will be fine as suggested.
Thank you
