Winter pool maintenance
#1
Another pool question.
Our pool has been emptied cleaned and filled back up again.
Our landlord has given some advice on pool maintenance but his lingo is so full on valenciano I cant understand evrything he says and He also says he is unsure of winter care.
So we have added algicide and chlorine.
Any advice on what to do next?

I'm going to empty mine soon, clean it and then refill about Feb time ready for the new season. By refilling it then, I'll be into the normal summer maintenance.
I'm lucky in that I have a winter cover. In previous years I have merely (over) dosed it with chlorine and then left it the whole winter. When I do come to open it up, there's not much rubbish on the bottom and it doesn't take long to get it sparkling again.

When our pool gets too cold to use I simply add winteriser and turn the pump off. The product comes in a 5 litre bottle and is called something like "invienador" or just ask for winteriser. Half of this is a single dose for our 8 x 4 pool.
Apart from occasionally netting out leaves and redosing after 3 months it is left utterly untouched over winter. We don't have a cover and sure the bottom is pretty dirty, but the water is crystal clear. All that will be required is a good clean and re dose with chlorine when the time comes to re-open it.
As an added bonus we save a good deal on electricity as the pump isn't running for 5 hours a day.

Must be doing it right then.
Thanks for your help.
