Re: Who was it?

We wern't on the list but moved out here feb this year, going back in January :(. I could have settled here but the children have not settled at all. We have 2 girls 8 and 11 who have had a terrible time trying to 'fit in'. We just can't sit back and see the girls so unhappy. So for us it simply has not worked out, luckily the company my OH works for has an office in Blackpool so he can transfer to there and just fly back to Madrid as and when he has to. so now we have a new adventure to look forward to. Today is the last day at Spanish school for the girls and also the first day they have gone in smiling, it's worth the move just to see that :)
Congratulations and cheesy grins to all those who have settled and are happy here
Good luck and karma to all those who are still trying to settle or are making the move back.
I wish you all well
MERRY CHRISTMAS

I'm wondering how those of you who haven't yet answered the other thread about what work is available/businesses thriving etc., are doing? If you are planning to stay for the foreseeable, how are you surviving? It seems lots aren't.

Please, lets not turn this into another "not surviving in Spain" thread, and keep it on topic :)

Last thing I wanted to do....don't think I'd quite realised at that stage: see 'so many people going back to UK, why' thread, posts 19-22 & 24 & 25!!;)

Thats a shame, will it ever happen in the future or is that a closed book Andrew?

Also, what ever did happen to BigPete?

I'm going to put the same post on six threads (that's how many are currently discussing various sides of the same subject) & see if anyone else agrees with me that one all encompassing thread along the lines of
Is everyone having trouble finding a job, why are you staying in Spain, going back to the UK, coming to Spain, changing your mind, and is there a place or business that's the best option for Brits over here? is what's needed? ...with a nod to Peter Kay, of course;) There are loads of people with loads of interesting comments about all aspects of this mega-subject, but to keep tabs you have to have the flitting nature of a damsel fly & there's no one obvious 'core' thread.

But with a core thread the minor points go unread or are not made.
Do we really want to copy big business and centralise? Will we then suffer a thread crunch?
