Question Where to buy flat screen TVs?

We are looking for a flat screen TV to use in our home in Costa Esuri but are having difficulty finding a local shop that stocks them. Does anyone know of a store which is the equivalent of say, Currys or Dixons, or similar, not too far from Ayamonte, where we could try please? Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Hi, as just mentioned, a good place to try would be Carrefour which is just down the road in Cartaya as they have a good electrical dept or Wortens in the Gran Plaza Tavira. Hope this helps, Bryony

P.S. although, if we are going to loose all UK channels in the summer you could save some money and not bother with one at all.

Thats interesting Fred, I must admit I haven't managed to get to the Plaza in Tavira for a while so not sure whether the one there is still open. I will check it out asap as its a good excuse to look round the other shops as well

I just checked online and the Worten I was referring to has been removed from their website, however Tavira is still shown.

Hi Sue and Barry

We bought all our white goods TV etc from one shop in Ayamonte in the evening. They delivered next morning carried it all up our stairs, installed it all and took away the trash. We were more than delighted with the service, also happy to give a local shop some business. Prices were good too. Ours was electrodomesticos gueterrious (sp)

Just walk to the indoor market from the plaza next to the marina (where the chinese resto is) - you will see 3 shops on your right. And one on the 'other' corner of the plaza just along from the shoe shop on the left.

For the fullest choice Carrefur mentioned above or a bit further in Huelva Media Markt which has a huge selection.... and is an Europe wide huge Curry's/Comet like shop for all sorts of stuff. That area also has other great shops like Decathlon for example so you can make an afternoon of it....

Good luck
Jon

I do agree with Jon, we also bought all our white goods from the shop mentioned and they give excellent service to the extent that when I bought my dryer (in the morning) they apologised that they couldn't deliver it until the evening . We did, however, bring our tv from the UK.

Just curious, can you still get TVs that DON'T have flat screens?

Another vote for Carrefour at Cartaya. The choice was excellent and the prices appeared cheaper than Ayamonte.

Interesting, why would you want that please? Am I missing something? I recently bought a full HD TV with small screen for a cheap price, and the HD picture 'concentrated' in the small screen is an amazing picture and its very light and moveable. I suspect it also takes less electricity than the bigger boxes with a CRT... cathode ray tube.....

Thanks
Jon

Hola

One word of warning, Media Markt goods are sometimes seconds quality; they are not always top quality goods.
