What's the worse job you've done?
For me it was working on a 6 month stint in the dole office back in the 80s, processing claims. I've had plenty of jobs that are seen as lower in the social scale eg factory night cleaning, butchers' assistant, delivering free newspapers etc., but that job was just so depressing meeting people daily who'd been thrown out of work...

I shall think about it before giving a considered reply as I've probably had my fair share of sh!tty jobs over the years.
Sometimes up to my knees, sometimes up to my neck in it, though that was the day I fell in the muck spreader full of liquid slurry,(poooooh !),
No one came anywhere close to me for about a week after.

Debagging for George. Perhaps I should explain that it was a warehouse job removing plastic bags from rails of "George" branded clothing for Asda. It was tedious and quite painful after a few hours, as the knots securing the clothes to the hangars had to be undone manually.
I've worked in "care" doing smellier jobs, but the debagging was the worst by far as the tedium was soul destroying.

Re: What's the worse job you've done?
Some friends and myself got a holiday job at Woolworths, 3 days per week. I was waiting to start Uni, never had a job! They put me on the biscuit counter with an overall 3 sizes too big and a daft cap for my head. After 2 hours I was shattered, you wouldn't believe how many people bought those crappy biscuits. People were grumbling cos I had given them a broken one...it was hell
I wanted to stick it because my family had been mocking me for doing it. after 2 hours there was a break. Had to climb 2 flights of stairs to staff room, queue for my bag (they were locked up) get a drink and be back on counter within 10 mins. So that was it, once I got my bag I was off. Then my family mocked me for not staying...I was the joke of the week

I got a job in Fairlies, a horrible dance hall in Leith Walk in Edinburgh when I was a student. I was a bouncer in the upstairs part working with a partner who was a professional wrestler.
He would put the troublesome punters in a head lock, and I would push until we got to the long, steep concrete stairs leading back down to street level. When he let go I would kick them in the arse to make them roll down the steps. They never came back.
One night my fellow bouncer let out a horrible scream and I could see that the punter had bitten off his pinkie which was rolling about on the floor.
We had red jackets for obvious reasons, and I took mine off and never went back.

delivering 15 tons of household coal during a blizzard. The coal had been bagged the day before and left over night, so the bags were frozen, the coal stuck to the bags and the bags stuck to each other.
the whole load was on a 20 ft trailer stacked 3 bags high. One man lower a aba, by hand down to your shoulders, and you carried it 130 yards , each bag was 50 kg, emptied it , then jumped on the bag to empty out the the bits frozen to the inside of the bag. tie the empty bags to the trailer and try to drive a scania 110 with a misbeahving, very light trailer home without killing yourself, your 2 co workers, others drivers, pedestrians in so much snow, you envy snow plough drivers( they can clear snow)
All the time, the windscreen is misting up, due to the three of us were soaked from sweat and snow and this was now evapourating from bodyand condensing on the cold windows.
At minus 15c I was worried that the diesel would " freeze" and we would be stranded

I had a Saturday job in Tesco whilst in the 6th form. It wasn't that bad except for the Christmas period - they had Christmas muzak on a loop and I thought I would go insane if I heard Jingle Bells for about the 100th time in a day! Christmas Eve was quite good as drunks would come in in the afternoon and being full of good cheer, give you tips for packing their shopping which never happened at any other time.

My first job was as a dishwasher in a truck stop. I washed pots by hand in filthy water up to my elbows and had to fight off the cockroaches.
Second worst was being a chambermaid in Banff, Alberta. Let's just say that people are disgusting.

Stocking the biscuit counter at Woolworths £1/day less 4d stamp.
No chocolate fingers ever made it to the counter

Amongst the worst would be trying to restart a tractor diesel engine which had frozen/waxed up on a remote hilltop in a raging blizzard at 20 something below, though what the chill factor was I dread to think, as my eyes kept iceing over and my lips freezing together.
