We have a 14foot trampoline with safety netting - it ways a ton! Well, it's now at the top of a very large fir tree and held there by a palm tree next to it.

I keep looking at it wondering how I'm going to get it down - then I go back in doors and have another cup of tea.:thumbsup:

We are outside Villajoiosa and have had VERY strong winds for a few days, yesterday was the worst and a lot of damage has been done, trees uprooted and roof tiles falling. My daughter lives in La Nucia we went over to visit yesterday over the mountain road, passed a small van crashed at the side of the road and then on the other side of Finestrat village we were turned back by the police as there was a forest fire in La Nucia and a lot of thick smoke was engulfing the area. We took another route through Alfaz and got to my daughters to find a huge pine tree uprooted and across the road and whilst we were at my daughters the smoke from the fire, some distance away, drifted over and we couldn't see a thing. Then we saw a fire in the palm tree in the garden opposite which my husband and daughters boyfriend helped to put out and roused the neighbours to help. When we left there was more smoke coming from another area and police cars and bomberos rushing around. It was chaotic. Electricity on and off all day, mostly off.

La Nucia very bad - had my boss' four children and two of her friends' children with us yesterday as they had been evacuated and stayed overnight (that was fun in a two bedroomed apartment - two single beds and six children - I think a hurricane visited us) - the smoke was terrible and the children were very frightened and now today the planes have been coming over to drop water. Have a look at Utube videos.

We have been almost 24 hours without power, but luckily no damage to the property.
You can see more of what has happen to Galicia on this link. If you do not understand Spanish maybe use Google to get the gist of what has been written. The odd thing about this newspaper is all quotes are in Galician so that will not translate with Google. Obviously loads of photos and videos too.

Battlezone (another poster here) lives on the coast so we wonder if they have any power yet, form the newspaper reports it seems a lot of the area is without power.
Only the other day we had a lot of snow so the weather up here is very mixed at the moment.

We did not take any video of the storm as it passed us during the night. They forecast more winds for later tonight.

Its suffered a direct hit I'm afraid.
Wires have broken that were holding the roof material down, and allthough its still there, I need to get up there and re wire it. Cant until the wind is completely gone though :(

Just phoned my daughter, they are ok and weren't evacuated but the vets further down the road was on fire last night. They were told to stay in their home and still have no electricity. Helicopters are helping to put out the fire now and the army is involved, 14,000 people evacuated.
