Default What's open in January?

HI! We are coming down in January for a few days and we are staying in Isla Canela.. we were wondering what Resturant's are open in January, particularly in IC or Ayamonte. Also friends told us that El Paridiso closed down quite suddenly, does anyone know what happened? Thanks and Happy New Year

Morning Rita
I don't believe El Paridiso is opening again until next season probably Easter time , I heard several reasons why they shut suddenly ,no one seemed to know for sure
The restaurants that should be open in the Marina not necessarily every day should be
A Tres , Cayeletus . Antonio 4 , & Minitero should all be open . Dantes does tapas now & should be open also La Sonrisa tends to open the week ends
The bars that should be open will be Neptuno , Cinnamons & the Sugar Reef when there is sport on the TV
Punta De Moral's restaurant should be open but they tend to shut earlier in the Winter
The beach end should have all the usual beach bars open
There should be plenty of places in Ayamonte to eat also the usual ones in Portugal
Hope this info helps
Chris

Thanks Chris,

Appreciate the info! We are down the Marina end and it can be very empty in January. Do you know if Puerto Ancho is open in Ayamonte? R

They are still open in Laguna Sq while they are working on the new place. They will be closing for a couple weeks while they actually move, sometime in February I believe

Paraita have closed but are reopening in January in what was El Clavel

Do you have an opening date for Paraita?
Also we note that La Lota plaza is almost all bars and restaurants now from take away pizza at one end to tapas at the other. There is always something open whatever time of day or night you are down there.
LPA will be the icing on the cake when they open!

Dare I say it, or am I still in 'New Years spirit' - mode. But the re-emergence of LaLota and e.g the new constructions in CE and even that building skeleton that was by the side of Laguna being finished off are - possibly - the tiniest sign of of 'green shoots' for us?. Even that large, and expensive complex between IC and PDM is - perhaps - a sign? Hope so..... no holding of breath though! [As GW said] 'But we are in Spain'

Jon
