I was in San Sebastian in August 2002. The weather was having a bit of a laugh at our expense. The temperature was officially 18ºC (nippy for August) and there was quite an insistent 'breeze' making feel a lot chillier. The beach was PACKED!!!! There were people in the sea FFS!!!! Thinking that these were obviously foreigners, me & Mrs F ventured down only to discover that they were mainly Spanish!!!! We were there with our jeans, jumpers and coats whilst these masochists were in their bikinis and shorts!!!!! you love my name dont you! :lol: well, there is a reasonable explanation for this Senor Fortaleza, the weather is rather volatile in san sebastian, and we LOOOVE the beach so we just persevere, i guess we are hoping if we just lie there, just a little bit longer, a little ray of sunshine might just come through! If we make it and end up moving back home, this time a little bit further south, then we may get a little bit more sun (havent you always noticed in the weather forecast the whole of spain has suns all over it and there is always a cloud over san sebastian!!). Oh and as for the fashion crimes the french and german are indeed rather guilty too:p |

Talking of dodgy dressers my hubby once won a contest for the oddest dressed person in the pub. He thought he looked good in his multi coloured shorts, checked shirt, flourescent green bum bag and sandals :blink: He didn't even know there was a contest in the pub until the winner was announced and he won a Budweizer t shirt (bright red, never worn it :lol: ) and a free drink for us both :p

Actually I don't think they look all that bad. Yes the sandals with socks maybe. And since when are the Spanish natty dressers ??? Maybe in Madrid or Barcelona.....the Italians, yes...now there is a real sense of style.
I too thought the pics were Dutch or German. How about some pics of people we think HAVE real style ?? |

I too thought the pics were Dutch or German. How about some pics of people we think HAVE real style ?? WHHAAAAT!!!! Poollounger, you have just plummetted in my opinion. They look AWFUL. Since when have bright orange trouser-shorts gone with purple sweaters and pink shirts????? And backpacks are for school kids, not pensioners! And lily white old ladies legs are not designed to be shown in public in the middle of winter. I´m sorry, but it´s true. And matching his and hers anything???....... Well, I could go on. The crimes committed in just those three photos alone are endless. Maybe I´ll have a go at getting some photos of stylish spanish dressers next time as well, just to provide a bit of contrast. Although in photo number 2 you can see a perfectly appropriately dressed spanish lady in the background. Keith |

My other half sometimes dresses like a tourist because he wants to.
He puts his hat on and his english T shirt, but then I have seen many Spanish men in English T shirts and Tops. When he wants to be spanish he wears his blue work trousers, he once had to prove he was english in a bar one day. He was in the bar with a group of spanish friends. they were playing a game to see who paid for all the drinks, well there was a policeman from Jerez (high up guy) who insisted he was spanish pretending, he had to show him ID for him to belive him. The police man had to pay for all the drinks |
