What do I need flying UK to Spain?
#1
Hoorah I'm returning to Spain mid-September.
Has anyone flown UK to Spain recently? What documents were needed?
I thought a pre-flight test was necessary and I read somewhere Boots did them for £70. But the Ryanair page says to bring a Covid cert OR a negative test. The idea of saving £70 is appealing, but have I missed something?
Also needed is a health control form (FCS), which I've started but cannot complete until 2 days before the flight. What's needed for the last parts?
Of course there's also the boarding pass, passport and residency cert.
Have I missed anything? Any insights greatfully received.
PS Having been away since 2019 England seems a run down, sad place
Maybe it was always like that and I never noticed. Has anyone else thought this?

It will be very strange for you returning to Spain after such a long gap.
Good idea to start researching what people have needed so that you are well prepared but also remember that it is a month away so changes may occur.
Good Luck with it all.

To enter Spain you need only proof of full vaccination and the passenger health form. You do not require any tests. I returned last week. It is very simple. The health form requires you to upload your vaccination certificate and a seat number and flight details and your Spanish address. On arrival if you are a resident you need to tell the border guard before presenting your TIE and passport so as not to get passport stamped. If you dont have TIE they will stamp your passport meaning you have only 90 days. After bag collection you will have your form with code scanned. That's it

I've a green residencia, rather than TIE, but I'm sure it'll be no problem to enter without a stamp.
Thanks.

OK thanks, we'll see. On the way out they checked my passport for an entry stamp, then asked for my residencia card and that was good enough. Santander airport is small and they don't have scanners so they just check the photo etc. I'll use your tip of giving the card first and saying "Soy residencia". What can go wrong

Well I got back safely with minimal fuss. At Stansted they wanted to see my passport, covid vaccination certificate and maybe the health control form (I don't recall). Then at Santander they checked some people's temperature (perhaps at random or maybe every 10 people etc) and checked everyone's health control form. I told the bored and completely uninterested customs official "soy un residente" and she gave the barest of nods, as if anything more would be way too much work. They've invested in passport scanners so she checked my resident card and scanned my passport and that was it.
And what a beautiful country to come back to
