Thanks Bryony, we had heard that there was something going on in the town but I would have assumed that it was on the 6th, so glad that I asked. We will be in Ayamonte on the 5th so looking forward to it. Sandra and Munty.

St Vincent de Paul Parish Church is also asking for donations of food and toys on the 10th to help local children. Remember, Xmas is not just about partying, caring and sharing is good too, regards Bryony

Events Guide

Thanks Bryony for reminding us all about the excellent charity initiatives happening locally. Sometimes in the blasé (pun intended) of publicity and advertising, its easy to forget helping people where you live.

I wont get into the 'hoary subject' of charity as there are many conflicting and valid views (like e.g that Islam have a stronger giving philosophy).

However for those that want to contribute, in Spain, I have started a new thread on the main forum to discuss this and also a tax-avoidance-scheme that, lets say, I've heard of. I believe it may be possible to augment your donation at no cost to you - but to great benefit to the charity. Click the link below, or just ignore.

Keep up the good work with the book club, Bryony and the book club team

Not quite Ayamonte, but just to let any football fans out there know that the women's Algarve Cup is being held 4-11 March @ various stadiums throughout the Algarve.Last year entrance was free so hoping for the same this year. Not a bad way to spend a few hours and it shows support for women's football.(Unfortunately UK is not participating but US and Germany will be there.) VRSA will host a few games including USA and Germany games
