Default Welcome to Earth Hour..

.. the most sickeningly useless empty gesture imaginable.

More than 7,000 towns and cities across the globe are plunging themselves into darkness today to mark Earth Hour, an annual event coordinated by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to raise awareness of climate change and other environmental causes.
Something more futile is difficult to envisage. The only effect it will have to make self righteous people feel more sickeningly self righteous.

Look, people will always need energy. Asking people to live with less and pay more for it simply isn't realistic. That's not how humans work.

The answer lies in more efficiency. Policy must reward efficiency and self-generation. Not penalising it.

Yes, it's pretty silly.

Much like all the annoying bumper stickers, when the display of the bumper sticker is the only thing the person ever does to make life any better for anyone.
