The Telegraph is good at using what looks like a researched report for advertising. They used to do ones during the property boom saying how all these people had bought off-plan and earnt 30% profit, whilst listing a few property agents

Seems strange also that one of the arguments put forward last month for increased immigration into UK was because it wasn't being off set by as many UK citizens moving overseas.

I have to state that the appeal of Spain still is strong for many of us in the UK. These last few days have been wet, cool and gloomy here - Those sub-60k houses in Camposol do seem appealing even if (or perhaps because) they are clamping down on poorly behaved kids. House prices are still very high here in London and the south-east, so it must be tempting for those sick of riots, stress and various stabbings each day, to sell up and head for the sun. But at least we know when to say "her' indoors" and when not, here.

Hmm stabbings, some every day on the CDS, particularly in málaga. Then there is this one, man sitting on bench shot, 79 year old believed to have been shot by a 70 yr old
This is a central tourist area. However, what you don't know doesn't hurt you, ignorance is bliss

Scotland Yard detectives were staging a fresh witness appeal over the death of the aspiring architect when the second stabbing occurred in the playground in College Close in Edmonton yesterday.
In an astonishing night of violence in north London, a man in his fifties was stabbed one road away and an 18-year-old was later left with serious head injuries after a pub brawl in the same area.

and the pubs wonder why we go to the supermarket and get a few bottles and tinnies and drink in our own homes.
back in the 60's I saw guys come back to the ship having been beaten up by locals, and that was in Portsmouth - it was much worse in Cape Town ..
living in the uk has for (nearly) all of us been relatively crime free, street muggings, knifings, murders were things we read about in other parts of the world. I suppose I could suggest it is because we let all these foreigners in, but it would have happened eventually anyway.
we currently have a young mother born in Eastern Europe missing for the past week, today reported police firmly believe dead and buried in a wood and have arrested 2 EE men. There have been 3 or 4 similar incidents in the past 12months. It isnt Broadwater Farm or similar, this is the Fens.

The young girls parents of middle east origin have just been rearrested again and charged with murdering her this time.
Could well be one of those "honour killings".

then theres the 5\7 asian guys who look like getting a retrial for grooming under age girls and prostituting them with older men.
the brits are severely lacking in plain and simple nastiness nowadays.

I think it is just a way of them advertising, I have seen that very same article a couple of years ago. They even used the same photo, which I recognise because I'm an avid photographer myself.

When we moved to Spain permanently (rather than just using our place as a holiday home) nearly 10 years ago, we had some building work done to the place we had at the time in Rojales. One day the boss told us his Spanish staff would not be around the next day as they had to go to a funeral of a cousin. He said the man had been only 26, so I asked it is was a car accident (going by the way everyone drove). His answer was "No, he had an arguement with his wife so she shot him". He was serious too.
