After last night and subsequent damage at our rented house due to the storm. Is there please a reliable weather forecast available for Javea.
Yes I know like Sevenoaks and Michael Fish anything can and does happen but it would help if one had some idea.
thanks

btw - AEMET (the Spanish met office) has us on ORANGE ALERT for intense rain until 9pm tonight (it was the same alert yesterday) & YELLOW ALERT until 6pm tomorrow

the alert for yesterday was very well publicised

I believe you will find the two links above are for the same weather station

I have always found Tu Tiempo to be reasonably accurate. Last night however they were oh so wrong. At 8.30 pm the first thunder started along with sheet lightening. I was in bed by 9 pm after having closed (all but one) of my windows and doors. I was kept awake most of the night by the rain, thunder and lightening and didn't arise until 10 am. My kitchen, living room and hallway were 3 centimeters deep in water. The torrential rain had brought down hundreds of grape leaves which blocked the central drain. Oh well, at least my lower floors are cleaner than they have been all summer.

We have just had the worst storm I have seen. 43mm of rain in 20 minutes and hail the size of sugar lumps!
At the peak the rain gauge indicated 345mm an hour.
Now the sun has come out!

I hope it's not headed our way. So far we've had nothing but two quite brief, fairly heavy but nothing exceptional, rain showers between 1.00 and 2.00 am today with some lightning a bit later on.

Lightning's back. Lots of rain again. Massive bolt of fork lightning opposite just now, less than 1km away
A summer wall of rain is descending on Murcia…can't even see the road 100m away

That's not to say that you won't get any. This sort of weather doesn't move like a winter storm does. It is caused by very unstable air which can cause thunderstorms to pop up anywhere with little warning. They usually only cover quite a small area but sometimes a lot of individual ones can get together and wreak havoc.

...or you could have just read the newspapers. They have been predicting the storms for at least 3 days

we've had thunder & lightning all night, relentless rain, but not as intense as Wednesday night, thankfully
if Porth checks back into the forum - we're on Orange Alert til 12 noon for more intense rain & storms, dropping to Yellow alert til 6pm
atm, anyway...
