Default Weak mobile signal in Spain

I am using Vodafone mobile in Orihuela Costa. It is almost impossible to make a call. You can speak, then the phone will die. It affect my life badly.

Can anybody tell me whether the mobile signals are bad all over Spain or only here?

If I have a land phone, will it work properly?

change to someone else, ask nieghbours who they are with and look at their reception.

Never had a problem with Vodafone other than they are a rip off for no contract - even up a mountain or on a plane

Maybe the phone or settings, is it UK voda or ESP Voda ?

I have a Orange mobi aswell works everywhere but where I want it to, I have to run up stairs to catch it by time I got up its stopped

Thanks. It is a ESP Vodafone.

I will ask the neighbour. But I think the best solution is probably a land phone.

I have vodaphone and movistar and they are both rubbish when you live in the campo, impossible to have a conversation on either of them. I always have to get people to ring back on the land line.

Where about in Orihuela Costa? I find my mobile (Movistar) phone signal is very good in Cabo Roig, Playa Flamenca, La Zenia and Punta Prima.
Are you surrounded by hills? Hills can block the signal.
If you don't need a land line, I would try another mobile operator, PAYG SIMs are very cheap.
