Way too much time on my hands

Re: Way too much time on my hands
No car insurance that bl**dy annoys me (wherever he / she is) - What if he injures himself, others or god forbid kills someone !! Irresponsible and Selfish !
My brother was in a serious accident with a drunk / not insured IDIOT.. wrote off both cars - no compo for Bro' as this idiot had no money either - I think he was ordered to pay £10 a month (which fizzled out)

I agree with you entirely. However he is convinced he is doing no wrong as his insurance people take his money every year and assure him he is legal. Don't understand how when he doesn't have a tax disc and the car doesn't leave Spanish soil so can't possibly have an MOT. Unless you can have an ITV with British plates

I know what you are saying...I've said the same thing. Unfortunately there are a lot of people doing exactly the same thing and none of them seem to care. Bit annoying when we paid out a small fortune for rematriculation. I couldn't sleep at night if I thought I was doing anything illegal

I pull over.
A shiver runs up my spine every time I see an English number plate. The chances are they not only are not taxed, but also not ITVed
If not ITVed they may not be serviced.
If they do have insurance it will not pay out.
Will they have ANY tread on their tyres?
(Mind you, you could have shaved in the reflection of one of the microcars we passed this morning)

You've got me there because I've never been ITV'd and yet I've always been taxed.
Do I have to be ITV'd to get serviced?
Perhaps I should not be insured and then if I hit you you could claim off of the Spanish Insurance Board.
Are slicks not legal here anymore?
Was the close shave caused by you pulling over too fast in front of the microcar because you saw an English numberplate?
Think I'll stick to what I do and come over twice a year for three months, for the pedants just under, and hope I dont frighten you if you should see me coming.

Re: Way too much time on my hands
Unfortunately, they are not interested. Fortunately, the Spanish police are beginning to clamp down and are now enforcing the rules. 12 British cars were confiscated in my town in one day recently for having no MOT/tax/insurance It would have been funny (if it had not been so pathetic) to hear the indignation and anger of some of the "victims" in a local bar shortly after that historic day. Of course, these people also had the inconvenience of not being able to drive home after their bucketful of ale - a pity as it appears that the drink driving laws don't apply to Brits either

I have heard of it being done ... although some say its not worth the paper it's printed on. The ITV station will be happy though, as they have your money
But you're not a resident here from what you say
DVLA wont be interested probably as said, although the car should have been documented as permanently exported. Only thing you could do, if you could be bothered, I guess is to do a denuncia here
