Re: Watch Out! Another Lets Bash Ryanair Thread !!!
It seems to me that there are a lot of people who have a preconceived idea of what flying should be: smiles all round, "let me help you with that sir/madam", "another G&T before dinner?" and an in-flight movie.
There are other people who regard modern day flying as merely a bus with wings. They have no expectation of help, comfort or flexibility and are therefore happy with low-cost airlines where passengers are regarded as "self loading cargo". So long as they get from A to B with a minimum of cost and no, or few delays they're happy. There is no right or wrong about this: just choice. If you want the former style of traveling then be prepared to pay for it. If you are happy with the latter, then fine. The only problems seem to occur when people want all the advantages of "old-style" flying but are only prepared to pay the no-frills prices. In other areas of out lives we have Fortnum & Mason at one extreme and Lidl at the other - just make up your mind what you want and can pay for and be content with your choice. |

Flying ot Oz i would want premier economy or business class. Flying to Spain who the hell cares! Especially when the punctuality is so good. The only problem is that on the small minority of occasions when things do go wrong, they REALLY do go wrong. |
Re: Watch Out! Another Lets Bash Ryanair Thread !!!
Im back and forth every few weeks between Spain and the UK. I always use ryanair as to me it is like a shuttle service, you get what you pay for. It works for me as 99% they are on time and even with extras they still work out cheaper than other budget airlines.

Damn straight.
For me it's the only airline that will go Stansted t Jerez, so I'm stuffed for choice. I love the term self loading cargo, and what else can you be expected to be at those prices? As long as they don't use cattle prods and whips, I couldn't care, as long as they are reasonably reliable and cheap. Were I expected to wear an orange overalls, hood and handcuffs, I would seek out an alternative. |
