Oh dear Mitzipurr, that is dreadful hugs and karma coming your way.
I had my purse stolen from my bag on a rush hour train one evening, only had £3.00 in it but I can remember feeling really angry at the time and thinking "well your need must have been greater than mine, I hope whatever you buy with it chokes you". mind you if he brought a big bag of crisps and stuffed all of them in his gob really quick that might make him choke |

Re: Watch Out.
I hate people that just take what they want when we have to work hard for what we want. like the shoplifters that come into where I work - thieving scum. They think nothing of using their kids to steal, them dumping them when they get rumbled, to have some relative pick them up from the police station hours later.

Good news, and it only goes to prove what I had been told, most handbags and wallets are returned, albeit minus the cash. I think the fact that you have to show ID for ANY credit transaction is a very useful thing here, and I DO wish the UK would also introduce some sort of ID card.
I'm a firm believer in some form of ID card, those who don't want it must have something to hide. One thing I can not get my head round is in the UK we have some many different numbers, Medical card, Hospital Number, driving licence number etc. Why can't we just be issued with one number when we are born ane be done with it. |

we already are, we have a perfectly acceptable ID number given when we are born, and that is the NHS number, allocated as soon as a baby is born, and then continues through life. It could so easily be used as the basis for an ID card, and would have the added benefit of having your NHS number available at any time should you need it.
Thats exactly what that number was designed for. During the 2nd war there was difficulty in that Gt Britain did not have an ID system and not all that many people had passports so emergency arrangements were made. After the war the National Health service was set up and the War Office, Home Office, Security Services and Police were all agreed that should the need arise there would have to be a system of National Identity and the NHS number provided the ideal starting point since everybody born here would have one and anyone coming to live here would want to get one. It was therefore the "secret" NI system. It was never implemented as such because Parliament could never pass the necessary legislation. Why you might ask are we going for a system that is costing BILLIONS when the number already exists for say 97% of the population living here and instead of the little bits of cardboard we currently have, a proper "credit type card" could be issued to everyone. Regards, John. </IMG> |
