look for powders saying 'biologico' they have all the main brands, not always the same name as the UK, but the pack design in very similar. Persil is available, but under a different name, can't remember just what though.

Persil is under the name "Wipp" in Spain.
I know I have seen that brand at Carrefour for sure. I cant remember if I saw it at Mercadona or Consum but I am sure it will be at one of them.

according to the Unilever company, just as they have Surf and Persil in the UK. WIPP is the Spanish name for Surf. SKIP is their name for Persil.

On Wikipedia it says : Henkel AG manufactures, distributes, and markets Persil in Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and most other European countries. In addition, they sell to several Middle East countries: Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Syria. Henkel markets Persil under the name "Dixan" in Greece, Italy and Cyprus; and under the name "Wipp" in Spain and China

Funny this should come up - I heard someone on the radio talking about "bio" detergents earlier, and he said that it is standard for all washing powders in most of Europe to contain these enzymes. It's only the UK that distinguishes bio and non-bio.
Research published in the British Journal of Dermatology showed that they didn't produce an allergic reaction, any more than non-bio ones did.

I guess they have to pay for all the advertising and inventing "new" products that people never knew they needed before!
