Default walking maps

Hi. Can anyone recommend a good series of detailed walking maps and where to get them? My wife and enjoy mountain walking in the UK and would like to continue in Spain but it's hard to know just where it's permitted and safe to walk without the guidance of a good map. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Andy

Only in tourist areas.

Where I live I would love some decent maps but they simply do not exist.

Try online - www.tiendaverde.es
Site is in Spanish but has maps for sale similar to UK OS maps. I bought some several years ago of my local areas scale 1:25.000 which were very detailed.

Try this site : https://openmtbmap.org/es/garmin/welcome/

Open for free download and there is also a software on the same page to download if you do not use Garmin GPS

This site will give you "approved" walks with approporiate maps for the region.http://misendafedme.es/buscador-de-s...s-homologados/

Best to decide which region you want then do a local detail search on the web. We had some fabulous walks in Navarra all details I downloaded from : Navarra Senderismo
Am sure other Communities must do the same

A good english source would be : http://www.mapsworldwide.com/c/1235/...50000-maps.htm

Perhaps not an answer to the question but maybe of interest to anyone in the Madrid area...

Maps of walking/hiking routes accessible by public transport.
