I wrote to them this morning and I have written to them again this afternoon saying that further calls had been made. I only log on to Voipcheap when I make a call which is about once a week. Trouble is how long are Voipcheap going to take to sort this out.

I have no idea, but change your password or even better uninstall voipcheap off your pc, otherwise they could use it indefinitely.

An update on Voipcheap and a warning to others. Whoever accessed my Voipcheap account has since tried to take another 150 euros. I have had to cancel my debit card now and it is with the fraud department at the bank. But worse has happened today. This morning Paypal telephoned saying that they believe there was unauthorised activity on my account. They had tried to transfer 2,500 euros from my bank account, and also another payment of 60 euros to Voipcheap. Thank goodness they spotted this and stopped the payments. On my Voipcheap I did use to pay by paypal in the beginning then changed to my debit card. They obviously got the information from my voipcheap account. I have written to the company but they have not replied and I do not expect them to. I found this comment on google: "Further Note: In the past few months we have received numerous requests from users of the Betamax VoIP services to help with unauthorized credit card charges from this company. We CANNOT help you. Just as they will never respond to any requests / emails from you they also do not respond to our requests to facilitate. It also appears that they have even shut down the only Forum for advice and complaints on Voipbusters website. The parent company is Betamax GmbH & Co.KG and I suggest that anyone who uses Voipcheap to google the name. Be warned.

As someone suggested earlier you should (if not already) virus check the PC regularly - IT'S ESSENTIAL THESE DAYS. Make sure you get a good Virus scanner and Firewall. e.g. McAfee, Norton, Sophos...
Your PC could be infected with a 'Key-Logger' which tracks every thing you type and sends the keystrokes details to a hacker through the Internet.. thus they would know which web sites you used, usernames, passwords and credit card details... this is a form of online identity theft.
A warning to us ALL. DO NOT TRUST 'un-known' or small ecommerce sites or use unfamiliar online payment gateways with your credit card details. Try to use sites with reputable names or use PayPal, NoChex, WorldPay...
I dare say you are not the only one.

I use AVG virus and AVG Anti-spyware. I do both these checks everyday. I do not think they have accessed my computer but the Voipcheap site somehow. I know absolutely nothing about computers but I am aware of scams that are used.

Response received from Voipcheap - "This is very strange. We advice you to contact the police and have them contact us. For now we are not going to do anything."
