Vodafone es movil/mobile internet
Hi, I have just purchased a modem for wireless internet over the 3G network on an 18 month contract. It comes unlimited, but apparantly the speeds slow down after a certain download limit.
Does anyone have any experience with this? My limit is 10GB so I don't think I'll use this quickly. It's only for general use but it seems skype might use a lot of data.
How slow do the speeds get once you go over your limit?
Is there anywhere online to check your usage?
I've registered on vodafone.es, but can't find this information.
Thanks

It is very quick when the signals good and works fine on Skype only tried voice as video I'm sure would eat the credit but good so farand I'm sure the cloudy overcast weather has affected the signal

when these USB dongles are advertised at 7.2 Mbps download rates do not believe it. You may get that if you live next to a main Vodafone mast which is transferring data though the main cables to the principal server quickly.
Normally the speeds will be lower of course and reception totally depends on your signal strength and nearness to the Vodafone system.
Usage is provided with the software that is installed when you first insert the dongle. You can find out how much data has been transferred using that software.

I have Vodafone ADSL en Casa which comes with the little dongle that can be used if there is a fault on my ADSL line, or if I travel away from home.
I want to take it to Denmark......any idea how much Vodafone charge for the dongle whilst out of Spain? In Spain it costs €2.90/day.
Can't find the info on their website.
Thanks

Hi Veleta
DON'T DO IT - it is prohibitive. I had a bill of nearly 1,000 euros for two weeks usage - was expecting it to be high, but not that high .
My new Dongle (7.2) does video Skype OK especially if I move nearer the mast for three bar of five bar strength. At a friends, Speedtest.net gave over 6Mb speed - I normally get between 2 & 3

Hmm. Ok, noted.
I posted on their forum and got this reply.....it seems that the cost is connected to usage, rather than a fixed amount per day like it is in Spain:
Tarifa Internet y Correo Roaming Móvil
Europa Resto del Mundo
0,8€ (1€ IVA inc.) /1 MB 3€ (3,54€ IVA inc.) /1 MB
4,24€ (5€ IVA inc.) /5 MB 15€ (17,7€ IVA inc.) /5 MB
