Like most places if it is a landline, depends where you are in relation to the land line exchange. In the towns, should be fine, but outside the town speeds starts to get e slower...

It's pretty much what 'The Guy' said. I live in Oliva (not far) on the side of a mountain about 4km from the nearest exchange. I have had ADSL over copper (the telephone line) from Telefonica, Orange and Vodafone and the best speed I have managed is about 2 megabits. The closer you live to the exchange the better the speed. In Oliva itself you can get 10+ over copper or even more over fibre optic. That said, I have recently changed to a German company called Aeromax who deliver broadband over microwave and now get a steady 6 megabits, it's also cheaper and works well for people who live in more remote areas.

Providing, of course, they are in line of sight to a 'repeater' or 'pole'. WiMax is pretty good if you can see a 'pole' but useless if you can't (like friends of ours who live in a dip).

Thanks for the welcome Rosemary. Yes the caveat to a microwave service is 'line of sight' to the receiver. My house could see two of which one was significantly stronger.

We are in L'Alqueria de la Comtessa which Google maps says is 9.5km from Villalonga. We have ADSL from Telefonica and we get 6 to 8 Mbps. Which is better than I get in the UK in the centre of Sheffield! I think it's down to the fact that Alqueria is small, we're not far from the exchange. And the population is mostly old ladies who don't surf the interweb at all hours so we have little contention. Friends in Oliva use the satellite dish thingie and they're getting great speeds. Their signal comes from a mast on Tossal Gross which I think may be visible from Villalonga. That might be worth considering.
