Villajoyosa is a brilliant choice.

Albir is also very close to Benidorm and an equally nice place, but lacks the Spanish charm of Villajoyosa

Finestrat is also beautiful and only a stone's throw away from Benidorm, but not near the coast.

Villajooyosa, yes traditionally a fishing town, the infamous different colours of the houses portraying to the sea is pertaining to danger!! in the event of an emergency fishermen could identify with the colour of thier houses whilst out at sea a danger warning or emergency in particular births / deaths!!!

Been there once and found it really pretty, especially the front area. I believe it was an area well favoured by artists as well wasn't it?

hi there where both self employed so will be ok , but we do want to start some new ventures. we know it will take time to get them off and running.hubby wants to start a rocknroll band to play all the clubs in the summer.plus private parties, weddings etc, for fun and maybe make some money eventually.
dont no where to stay yet rented apt probably while we look for properties.
what are you going to do for work, are you going to wait and see when you get out there, or do you have something.
where leaving the uk because we feel life has gotten so expensive, and all we seem to do is work to hard for less and less every year.and the weather ha ha .

Hey....my hubby's a musician and wants to get something off the ground when we are over in Spain (moving over soon), we should get in touch when we are over there, we will be in the Alicante area but more in the hills (Castalla) not too far from Villajoysa

Hi Lionda and Davy,we are both self employed too I have had a retail business or 13 yrs which I have just sold, its so hard trying to get any bloody money out of people these days and hubby does prop maintenance and has just finished a professinal tiling course so we have a few options but we`re not really going to decide until we see how the land lies, just like you we feel the work/family balance is not right.

Hi, we have recently moved to Albir which is one side of Benidorm. Far enough away if you want somewhere quieter but within easy reach. We are in the process of purchasing a business in Villajoyosa which is the other side of Benidorm. Villajoyosa is very Spanish and Albir has a large percentage of north Europeans. Benidorm is easily reached from Albir by the local bus service and only costs 1€. It can be a nightmare to park in Benidorm even this early in the year.

It is really a personal choice but I think we will have the best of both worlds. Private e-mail if we can help with anything else but it might be the blind leading the blind!!!!

Hi, if you are looking for work, then I think beni,(benidorm),would have suited you best. Location-wise, you have made the right choice - hope you can combine work and location......Good Luck.
