Are there any opinions as to the best private owners villa rental site?
in particular for the Valencia area?

When I used to rent in Oliva for my holidays (over a number of years) I always used holiday rentals and never had a problem. Can't advise as a owner though. It may be an idea to ring one of the owners of properties to let that is advertised on the website .

We have Spanish and English friends that rent out properties, one uses Holiday Lettings, they used to use James Villas but have finished with them now.

James Villas are quite up market, and very demanding of what they want of your property.
The other used to use the same company, but they have now switched to
http://www.spain-holiday.com no idea why. Speaking with her last night, they have moved the two properties they rent to this site, and seem happy with it.

www.ownersdirect.com gets good results for villa owners here - but not sure if it's the same on the mainland. We built one for a client - which is completely free until they reach 200k users (and then it's about €10 a year I think... can't remember)... but I won't post the link because it may contravene advertising rules. I am thinking about 2011 holiday letting for a luxury villa so was hoping for advice on which site(s) have produced best results for anyone here.

The beauty with these people is that it can be free(!) and they have web site templates which guide you through the creation process. They also appear quite high in search engines.
