Viella and Bielsa tunnels
Earlier in the piece this forum was so helpful in giving us background information in crossing the Pyrenees in February. After Xmas we start packing for the move.
We are moving to Javea and someone I met last evening suggested using either of the above tunnels. Has anyone used them please. Still concerned and being a person of a certain age as to snow in February.
thanks once more

From my own experience the least mountainous and least worrisome way into Spain is via the AP7. It's well traveled and the mountainous section is fairly short. We've never had any issues going via Irun in winter either but it does seem to be a little more bendy. We've taken the route via Foix too and while beautiful it wouldn't be the way I'd go if I was worried about weather. It's not as busy as the other routes. The tunnel was closed last time we went that way and we had to go over the mountains and around Andorra.
