Useful Information for Landlords/Tenants
Interesting and informative article from fotocasa on the latest changes to the law concerning long term residential renting, also a good link to a sample rental contract. It is in Spanish but Google translate maybe be useful

Re: Useful Information for Landlords/Tenants
I wish we had a contract, a reciept, and it wasnt all cash.
We, along with alot of other people who pay rent in cash get none of the benifits of the new laws.
Scary to think we could be asked to leave tomorrow. We have absolutly no security at all.

WOW! - what does the landlord say when you ask/insist on a contract?
How would they evict you? The landlord has zero protection either.

When we ask the owner (they come round for the rent) they say 'pfft what do you want that for, its just a piece of paper... '

we have asked 5 or 6 times about the contract, there was one the first year, we signed it with the 'middle man' that found the house for us, she took it for the owner to sign, we never saw it again.

Even if they turn off the utilities, the law is on your side.

There must be alot of people in the same situation, living in 'cash in hand' rentals .. I wonder how many situations will change with the new rules
