Urbanization Tax
Hi.
We are hoping to move to Spain, not permanently but at least 9months of the year. Booked a week in La Manga resort club to start our search. Wonderful 7 days. Drove around the la Manga area, Los Bolinas and other areas right along to Alicante. Have to say that the property prices in The resort club were very good and the resort was well run with good security[essential if property empty for long periods] Its the Urbanization taxes though!! So high. 3'600 to 6500 euros/annum depending on size of property. Not unaffordable for me while working as its only slightly higher than caravan site rates in Scotland but could be an issue on retirement. Renting out the property could help but I hear that tax is payable in the income.
My basic question is: Is there a cheaper way to do this and still have the security?
