I think it is totally amazing well hypocritical really that the west preaches democracy and in fact storms around the world fighting wars in the name of it and yet does not practise it.
Currently, many expats have no voting rights anywhere despite the fact they are legal tax paying residents.

I pay taxes in U.K. and Spain. I have children and grandchildren in the British Isles. Don’t tell me I have no interest and cannot vote. So, do you have another more balanced, reasonable and sensible argument for ex pats not having a vote or are you just another 'tap room table slammer?'

Oh dear, the resident troll has turned up!

Esuri is saying "no taxation without representation" - if an American is on a work visa in the UK and paying tax Esuri appears to be saying they should be able to vote. Ditto a Romanian in the UK.
I am pointing-out the taxation/representation statement has some holes.

I believe the site is geared for British Expats i.e. British Citizens that live or plan to live outside the UK. However often expats have to continue to pay income tax on such as government pensions. That is the point I am making.

I know, but the "no taxation without representation" phrase used by Esuri is an American one and I was pointing-out the obvious holes in it even in the UK - lots of people pay tax in lots of countries without (full) representation.

The principle was established in the English Bill of Rights, 1689.

If you move full time overseas then you have no right to vote to a UK vote IMHO.
