Default UK State Pension - Has it Arrived?

I normally get my UK pension every 4 weeks on a Monday. Lately this has been coming on a Tuesday instead but today it hasn´t even arrived. I phoned Pensions Service and they said there is no problems there end and it left last Thursday. I am suspecting that it may be my bank that is the problem as my other payment with a currency firm was very late too and I had to chase my bank then. Is there anyone out there that has their pension paid on this Monday and have they received it?

My wife's pension normally reaches our bank in Spain on a Tuesday but today hasn't arrived. Coincidence?? ?

I shall be retiring in the not too distant future. Thought of having my state pension paid directly into my GB bank and using money transfer ( HiFX) to transfer it into my Spanish bank ( Unicaja) Is it better to have it paid directly into Spanish bank? From your posts this seems to be the case.

We have our pensions paid directly into our Spanish bank because we do not want the hassle of always making transfers. Money in regularly without effort, direct debits for all bills, debit card for shopping and draw money as and when needed for other expenses. Lazy method that works for us, but then again we have made our life here and have no house etc in the UK.

If you have it paid directly in to your Spanish bank in euros you get a better rate of exchange.

Yes, we found that, getting it paid direct you get a better rate than any of the money transfer companies, or your own bank.
