Uk Car has been in Spain for a year. Covid and now sudden death of husband means mot ran out September. Insurance in Spain due this week Would like to take it back to Uk. Any help pls. Don’t know what to do. If I insure it in Spain can I drive it back and take for mot as soon as I get to Uk via ferry. Or get a transport company. If so any recommendations for transport please. Granada region to Northampton. Shoul I renew the insurance here

If you drive it back to the UK it should be fully road legal in its country of origin so with no mot it won't be, of course you may not get stopped but if there was a problem alone the way you may regret taking that course.
A transporter would be the safest option, i have used them before without problems, I don't think we can put links here but i have used Car Trans Spain and Sunshine Car Transport, just Google them

renew the insurance with a uk policy at least. A lot of Spanish road police officers can check it’s got a uk policy by checking the MID by typing the details In on Google. Also when you arrive in the UK make sure you have an MOT booked at least and you should be good to go.
