I would love to improve my typing....does anyone know of any free on line courses ?? I know I can spell but the typos drive me mad...

There are quite a few - I use some for my students to practice their speed. I haven't got the web addy's to hand, but there are lots if you google - some free, some not! I'll reply with the addy's later.

I did that Mavis Beacon one, but i could type better with two fingers, than I could typing properly and editing all the mistakes.
There was only a few seconds difference. ;-)

Found it! I have used www.typingtest.com - it's not fab, but it's OK. Another lecturer recommends "dance mat" which is aimed at children, but apparently is good for adults too - http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/typing/

Just had a look at "dance mat" which I thought was excellent. If I can work out how to do it, I'll send you Karma for that.

Just tried Dance Mat.... absolutely great.....blasted through the first two levels....a real example of making learning fun. Thanks.
