Hi to all
Just returned from Moraira, has anyone else noticed the number of restaurants/bars trying to add on drinks etc to your bill that you didn't order or get, also the car hire company swiping your card then telling me that it hadn't gone through so could we try again, to find out that they have taken the money three times, they did credit the account but that's not the point.
For the first time ever it has left a bitter taste.
Sorry for the rant.

It just takes few people/organisations to sour the experience. Car hire is one in particular. If they swipe it three times and return the money that is one thing but if they do that and use their own exchange rate by charging in sterling then they stand to make anything from 2% on each transaction!
I've also seen unknown items pop up on a restaurant bill, usually in the more touristy areas.
It does pay to scrutinise the bills both home and away.

Yes, it probably is wise to cheque restaurant bills as many waiting staff are seasonal and maybe inexperienced and some restaurants have complicated IT ordering systems!

We are in and around the Moraira area and have never had a problem with restaurant bills, we are not there in the summer so maybe they try it on, car hire can be a mine field anywhere these days
