this will do nothing to the rights of Americans to bear arms.
the gun lobby will look on this as a positive rather than a negative (AFAIK they hav never admitted a negative).
the police will carry out an investigation by Internal Affairs that will end up being diluted, a whitewash.

I could never understand that during NI's "troubles" many people who had reason to think the worst actually went to their front door to be met by a gun but would not appear to have been armed themselves.
