Default Train strikes coming

Take note of these dates if you are planning on travelling by train

I am not an engineer, but it stands to reason that increased train traffic with the private operators adding to the load means that increased rail maintenance must be an absolute priority to for all of our safety when using the train system in Spain. The Alicante - Madrid AVE line used to carry only 6 RENFE services a day when it opened, now with IRYO and OUIGO and Avlo, there is a huge increase in traffic, and most run at high capacity adding to the weight and load.

But workers belonging to breakaway unions not part of the government deal are still striking.
