Tips for cheap flights?
#1
Maybe it's because I'm used to travelling off-season, but I've just been looking at flights to Spain at the end of the month, and the amounts quoted are way high. Even EasyJet appear to be quoting £240+ for a one way flight to Madrid.
Any tips?

Edreams seem to have some half decent return deals for around £280 so that may be my option.

Tip: you could spin this into another reason why Spain's economy is booming.

What I can't understand is why the return flights (from Madrid to London) are a lot cheaper, with all the operators..
Surely the demand would even out each week...??

different days attract different hidden "surcharges"
also depends on how many seats they have to fill, the price rises as the number of seats available falls

know what you mean, when the BH was out here on her own I occasionally made one way to Spain and then one way back to GB (sri banned from saying the other version) and it was usually cheaper before currency changes to return than to come out
go with the flow, you can't argue with them
but remember to clear your cookies after trawling and asking or they will remember you and what they offered you last time.

Yes, I saw there were a couple of cheaper alternatives flying via Barcelona and even Zurich! In the end though I got a direct flight with BA from Heathrow which suits me better than some of the other airports.

Some university a year or so ago calculated that the optimum time for booking budget airlines was a week either side of two months.
(not much use in the short term, Stevie, I grant you)
It seems to sort of work out.
P.S. I just hope Mr O'Leary did not read it.
