Although a punctual person myself, one of the reasons I came to live in Spain is their 'manana attittude', the great majority of them are not punctual people.
The same endearing attitude is spread throughout Spanish life, leaving climatic difference to one side I enjoy seeing entire Spanish families sitting down to a family meal at midnight, with children running about to play with their pals. I love their lack of respect for authority when that respect has not been earned, and the gigantic black economy is a perfect example. 'When God made time, he made plenty of it,' is an Irish saying I've heard many a Spaniard use. |
