Things you used to eat, but no longer like

Suet pudding,
Potted meat,
Corned beef.
Out of necessity rather than choice at a time when any calories represented much needed energy, rather than being surplus to requirements.

Most all meats, drinks which have any calories, most processed foods, all fast food. Actually the list I buy is shorter than what I used to buy. Do not dislike the banned foods, just chose not to eat them anymore.

Not really - It didn't seem much to consider if choosing a first course that contains veg or salad - there were always plenty of options at various establishments when I lived in Madrid, although it may differ elsewhere. Apart from those I've already mentioned in my previous posts, there were other such as lentejas, habas con jamon, gazpacho, pisto, ensalada de alubias, pimientos de padron, caldo gallego etc etc. It was good also to get a free tapa from time to time that involved salad or olives.

I can eat salads and veg, tatties excepted, till the cows come home, but I'll still be hungry and need some proper food.

(presumably) like Fred, I take hypertension tablets every day, but this so called 6g a day figure is sorely abuse me thinks
looking at a packet of crisps (Spanish not UK) they say 0.55g of sodium per 100g of product. That's one of the lowest possible, many say 3 or even 4g per 100g.
looking at my salt intake carefully, as all those with hypertension should do, the amount of added salt in my diet has reduced - I buy my meat fresh direct from the butcher who killed it. There is no added water, salt, or other E additives (some of which may also include sodium but don't tell you),
To ancient man, finding and processing salt in various ways became a way of life and ever since, like sugar and chocolate, has become built into the body's "needs". But if you eat any processed food at all there is salt in it.
ISTR that a normal tin of Heinz baked beans has more than the daily intake figure along with sugar to hide the taste of the salt.
so look carefully at what you are eating, you may find you are eating much much more than you should be.
if you cannot get it any other way then salt tablets are relatively cheap and freely available without prescription - although in excess they could kill
