Is there a Gota Fria in Valencia this year?
I'm planning on flying to Valencia for a business meetup later this month. Am i likely to be flying into a downpour?

we actually already had 'conditions are right' when Andalucía flooded & Gandía had its tornado earlier in the month

I don't know of another one forecast.

I'd say it's still a possibility - the sea is still warm because of the unseasonably high temperatures we're having - all we need is a cold blast from the north & it might just happen again

Re: Is there a Gota Fria in Valencia this year?
We had loads of rain when the last downpours hit..the airport was closed and I know of people on a plane that was trying to land but couldnt and was diverted to Alicante.....apparently there was a hurricane...I think there was flooding in the metro and the city streets full of mud etc.
I was told the last major gota fria was in 1989 with the worst being in I think 1957 when the riverbanks burst.
Rain is forecast over the next few days but to what extent Im not sure...I think youll be OK though (she says).

thx for the feedback everyone. I'll just keep my fingers crossed, and if the flight is diverted to Alicante I assume we'll be bussed up to Valencia.
