Default Tenerife -work situation

Hello there, just wondering what the work situation is like in Tenerife. I'm a soft furnisher by trade, that's manufacturing curtains, blinds, bedding and so on. Is there any call for such like in Tenerife, and what are the opportunities like for setting up your own business there? I'm contemplating a visit there soon, any advice on a good area to stay?

A pal of mine had such a business in Los Cris quite a while back that did ok, though he's retired now.
Times have obviously changed, though that might be a likely place to look first.
There is a dedicated "Tenerife Forum" which may be able to offer much more local advice.

Thank you so much for you reply, Dick Dasterdly, It would be great to get something off the ground there. Is it possible at all to grab your pal's email, or can I send him mine, to get some more info from him. I'm new to the forum and not sure whether either is allowed.

Warm regards.

As I said it's a long time ago Sharon. He moved back to the UK with his family quite a few years back and offhand I can't see any contact info on him, other than possibly through other friends.
Things have changed so much since then, as they do especially in such places, so I doubt very much if any info from way back then would still be relevant now.
That other source I mentioned may be more useful and more up to date if you make an enquiry, as there's not many aspects of Tenerife life and business that aren't well covered on there.
Best of luck with your enterprise, though I imagine it won't be so easy the way things are at the moment.
