Tenerife Anyone??
Hello All!!!
Thank you for reading my post! I am looking for some facts regarding the all important cost of living in Tenerife. Some reports have you believe it is more expensive than Mainland Spain for items such as milk ,cheese, bread and meats, etc.
I do not think that information is true. I am hoping some local residents or frequent vacationers can shed some light.
If the cost of food and wine affordable in Tenerife? Is there access to local produce and spices all year? I realize the cost of living has increased everywhere. but do you feel that life in Tenerife has increased more than the rest of the world? or even mainland Spain??
Thanks in advance!

Hi Boston Lady,
Welcome aboard.
I used to live there myself, but I'm probably a bit out of touch now.
Very few posters from TF are on here.
From what I can gather prices have gone up quite a bit, but I believe it is still the cheapest of the Canary islands and also has the benefit of a much lower added tax rate than the Peninsula.
Also to bear in mind that unlike the mainland you have no heating bills at least in the coastal areas and a much better climate in general.
You may be lucky and get more info on here, but if not have a look at this.

Best of Luck.
