From my experience, Dell onsite warranties are brilliant.
However the level of service from some companies is outrageously poor. Worten and Media Markt in Spain are typical of this. In the UK PC. World and Currys are much the same.
The solution is not to buy from these companies and buy from companies that have earned a good reputation.

Something else I learned yesterday - we filled out the complaints form at Mediamarkt and were told that there was nothing else we needed to do as they would forward on the paperwork. This was incorrect advice given as once I got home I looked on the internet and realised we had to post the top copy of the complaints form with proof of purchase to the Consumer de Lugo office. Mediamarkt would have known this and they obviously gave us false information. So today I am off to the post office to send the complaints form with all the necessary paperwork.

On the occasions, that I have made a complaint, I have always been given the top two copies , which I just kept.
I have always received a reply so assume they sent off the bottom copy.
So what is supposed to happen?
What is the address to which to send the complaints form, for future reference?

Twice i wanted to make a complaint against Carrefour. On both occasions (Torremolinos and Malaga) they refused to give me the complaints form until after a lot of agro with the employees and the managers. I never heard anything from anyone in regard to the complaints.

You should have reported them to the local police

It was only after telling the manager in each case that I would call the police if they did not produce the complaints form that they coalesced.
I presume that the complaints procedure is an internal thing, I still have the copies but have never received any sort of reply or communication from anyone.
I fail to understand the importance of the complaints forms, I know that there is a hefty fine for not having them in your establishment.
We had them but no-one ever complained except for a few unable to stand drinkers that were refused drinks and I don't think they knew about or could have filled in the form although there was a sign up saying that we had it on the premises.

Asking for a complaints form puts the fear of God in them, and will probably end up with a successful outcome.
There is also a Spanish equivalent to Trading Standards.
Perhaps someone could inform the forum about that.
By the way did you mean to write IS fit for purpose?

There should be an office somewhere not far from you.
Google "OCU Spain" because there's also an explanation in English.
Here's a website that explains about "Hoja de Reclamacion"
